Russia fires missiles on Ukrainian cities

This morning, October 10 2022, Kiev was rocked by several explosions in various parts of the city. There are 8 victims and over 20 injured. It was since June 26 that Russian forces had not attacked the Ukrainian capital. One of the missiles landed near President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office.

The attacks hit various areas of the city center and took place around 08:15 local time. Among the areas of the capital targeted is the very central district of Shevchenkiv, where some videos show a playground hit.

A regional governor of Zaporizhzhia, said that at least 17 civilians were killed in the missile barrage. Another 60 or so were injured. Twenty-one private homes were damaged, including a school. At least six medical workers were also injured. Rescue workers are still searching for victims.

The perpetrators of the explosion of the Crimean bridge are “the Ukrainian special services”, which committed “an act of terrorism“. Vladimir Putin said it, according to what Ria Novosti reports. “The Ukrainian special services ordered, engineered and carried out the attack on the bridge. There is no doubt, it is a terrorist act aimed at destroying the critical civilian infrastructure of the Russian Federation”, said the Russian president during a meeting with the head of the Russian Investigative Committee.

The infrastructure was hit by an explosion caused by a truck bomb on October 8. Almost 19 kilometers long, it consists of a double viaduct, both road and rail, and is the only direct link between the peninsula annexed in 2014 and the Russian region of Krasnodar. Moscow immediately set up a commission of inquiry to investigate the incident.
