Biden’s wealth: the assets of the President of the United States
President of the United States since November 3, 2020, Joe Biden arrived at the White House with an already large fortune. Today he boasts wealth totaling 10 million dollars, 2 million more than the day he took office.
According to what those in the know claim, the increase in his assets is given by the real estate properties he owns.
Biden owns two houses in Delaware, which are worth a total of 7 million dollars, or 1.8 more than when he became president of the USA.
The largest residence is the holiday home, which has 446 square meters. Located in Rehoboth Beach, it was bought by Biden in 2017, the year in which he left the position of vice president and, between public speeches and books, he grossed 11.1 million.
Immediately after the purchase, he had a beautiful swimming pool built and the villa took on even more value. To date, not surprisingly, it is valued at 4.5 million dollars.
The second house, although larger, has a lower value. In 1996 Biden purchased land in the Greenville neighborhood of Wilmington, shelling out ‘only’ 350 thousand dollars.
It is here that the president had a 636 square meter colonial-style residence built, complete with a 176 square meter cottage, built later, precisely in 2005. Currently, the entire property is worth 2.5 million dollars. The two villas, therefore, are worth approximately two-thirds of Biden’s personal assets.
Few shares, but well-studied real estate
Joe Biden’s father was a car salesman and on the occasion of his son’s first wedding, in 1967, he gave him a $5,600 Corvette Stingray. That car is still in the president’s garage. But today it is worth 100 thousand dollars. As already underlined, however, the president’s assets are mainly linked to real estate properties.
He has never liked investments in shares, much preferring the so-called ‘bricks’. It is precisely for this reason, however, that he does not have much liquidity.
Currently, Biden and his wife Jill have less than $310,000 in mutual funds. To his earnings we must add his salaries. The one for politics equal to 400 thousand dollars a year and the pension one of 250 thousand dollars.
