How Strawberry, OpenAI's new AI, works

OpenAI continues to look to the future, now there is a new product in its sights. Here’s what Strawberry is and how it works, the new AI ready to amaze the world.

What is Strawberry, the new OpenAI project

OpenAI is certainly one of the most famous companies in the entire generative artificial intelligence landscape. It has often been the target of criticism, but there is no denying that it has been fundamental in terms of the innovation and propagation of this new technology.

Very famous for ChatGPT, it has several very interesting platforms in its catalog but it doesn’t want to stop there. In fact, he is now working on a new project called “Strawberry”, which is ready to change the hierarchies of the sector again.

The goal is to create new artificial intelligence models equipped with great reasoning capabilities, in the hope of surpassing existing ones and getting closer to human thought. An ambitious project for which secrecy exists for the moment, but some characteristics of which are already known.

How Strawberry, OpenAI’s new AI, works

As written in the previous paragraph, for the moment not much is known about this project, especially about its specific functioning. Strawberry should be able to think independently and plan searches on the internet, in-depth and accurately, anticipating the user.

Secondly, the aim is to overcome the capabilities and limitations typical of LLM models, providing reasoning that is more similar to that of humans and more complete.

As for its application, it is likely that OpenAI intends to carry out tests on machine learning software and to fulfill engineering tasks.

In short, the conditions are truly interesting and if Strawberry meets market expectations, a very interesting new technology will be introduced ready to shift the balance of the sector again.

The continuation of Q Star

Artificial intelligence lovers will already be familiar with Q Star, a project announced by OpenAI which envisaged the development of AI in a general sense. The announcement is dated November 2023 and Strawberry seems to be its natural continuation.

The goal of the company led by Sam Altman is now clear: to bring artificial intelligence to another level. The constant search for improvement is proof of the almost infinite potential of this new technology, and no one yet knows precisely how far we can go.

The Strawberry project is certainly very interesting, like every new thing that is presented or whispered about, however it seems that in order to discover it, time and other investments will still be needed.

An anonymous spokesperson told Reuters: “We want our AI models to see and understand the world like we do.”

The result, at least for the moment, still seems to be distant, but given the speed with which progress is being made, it could be achieved even sooner than expected.
